Getting There

Hotel Isis is located in the Costa Grande region of the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

From Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo International Airport (ZIH):

The airport is just a fifteen-to-twenty-minute drive away.

By Taxi: Buy your ticket for an official airport taxi (Transporte Terrestre) inside the terminal. Their fares are fixed by zones. Tell them that Hotel Isis is in "Zona Centro." This is the fastest and most comfortable option.

By Shuttle: Shared shuttle vans are cheaper but will wait until they are full before leaving and may make multiple stops at other hotels.

WALK-OUT HACK: If you are traveling extremely light and on a budget, you can walk out of the airport parking lot to the main road (about 5-8 minutes) and flag down a passing "Combi" (white van) heading to Zihuatanejo. It costs just a few pesos but is not recommended with large suitcases.

Local Transport:

Hotel Isis is within walking distance of the town center and beaches. Taxis are available all over Zihuatanejo; honk at one on the street or find several parked at designated sitios (taxi stands). Most trips within town should not cost more than 30 pesos, though taxi drivers seldom accept fares without attempting some negotiation with tourists first! An inexpensive way to travel like locals is by catching a ride in anyone's car that will give you lift-there are no marked stops for these vehicles; just flag down any passing green-and-white sedan (officially licensed) heading your direction.

Combis: Zihuatanejo runs on "Combis" (small white minibuses). They are ubiquitous, cheap, and safe. You can catch one just a block or two from the hotel to go to Playa La Ropa or Ixtapa.

Taxis: There are plenty of taxis in El Centro. They do not have meters; you must agree on the price before getting in. A ride from the hotel to La Ropa beach is usually a standard fixed rate.
